You go through a typical thing where a mafia family agrees to marry off their daughter to another powerful mafia family in order to unite the families together. Sure, Hades isn’t exactly perfect and the shit that he allegedly did was not great but to base or do a retell of your own characters to Hades and Persephone… If it was written well then no big deal but…. *looks around the room* Elena and Kal Anderson are the characters and… why would anyone butcher the mythical characters. Readers compared the characters to Hades and Persephone. To be honest, I don’t even remember the characters. It just kept getting weird and then I finally had to put it down. And of course, I wanted to give this book a chance, and it kept being disappointing. Promises and Pomegranates was very much disturbing. So I figured this was a good book since people were raving about it. ![]() I was missing The Brit and The Enigma, so waiting for the 4th Unlawful Men book had me wanting to fill that gap. I was having a moment where I needed a good Mafia story. I saw this book on many bookstagrammer’s profile, praising it… but…. This book was… I absolutely did not enjoy this. I am not going to lie… I would never with you guys. ![]()

Therefore, the first chapter is concerned with Bradley Pearson’s account of himself and Arnold Baffin as writers, and to a certain extent with the question of Bradley’s narrative reliability as well as – and this is essential – with Arnold’s and Bradley’s different definitions of the art of writing. It will be discussed which function is ascribed to this comparison of the two characters in T he Black Prince and to what extent the frequently quoted “artist-saint contrast” 2of Murdoch’s works is applicable to this constellation. However, the central theme of this paper concerns the relation between the two writers Bradley Pearson and Arnold Baffin.
